Henry Whitfield house
The Henry Whitfield House is a historic house that situated in Guilford, CT. The house is in existence from 1639 and is the oldest house in Connecticut. Henry Whitfield and his family were the first occupants of the house. Henry was one of the founders of Guilford and was the town’s first minister. The house was remodelled in 1899 and opened as a museum. The house declared as the National Historic Landmark in 1972.
CA Nothnagle Log House
The Nothnagle log house was built in 1638 and located in Gibbstown, New Jersey. Doris and Harry Rink privately own this house since 1968. This 400 years old house was built in 1.3 acres and surrounded by the redwood trees of hundred feet. The home includes of 352, square feet cabin. It also contains an additional modernise living space. The cottage consists of correct period artifacts, furniture and construction details. All of the historical items of this cabin have a value of around 2.9 million dollars.
San Miguel Mission
San Miguel Mission built in the early 1600s under the direction of Franciscan Alonso de Benavidez. It is the oldest church present in the USA. Its thick adobe walls support the traditional bell tower. Its rare dose is the oldest wooden ornamental screen in New Mexico. Statue of Saint Michael, old bronze bell and an excellent hand carved old confessional are some of the fantastic things present in the San Miguel Mission. It rebuilt several times.
Richard sparrow house
In 1636 a housing tract of six acres was granted to Richard Sparrow, in which he built a house which is historical today. This historic house is known as Richard sparrow house situated in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Richard Sparrow made this house in 1640 for his family. The Richard Sparrow house declared as the historic landmark in 1974. Today the house has become a museum for showcasing the artistic things.
Fair Banks House
If we question for the oldest surviving timber-frame house in the USA, the answer will be the Fairbanks house. The Fairbank house is situated in Dedham, Massachusetts and built by Jonathan Fairbanks, a Puritan settler. Jonathan Fairbanks constructed this house for his wife Grace and their family. Jonathan’s eldest son John became the next owner of the house after the death of Jonathan. In the same way, this house passed to every future generation until 1904. Rebecca Fairbanks was the last owner of the house. After the death of Rebecca, the Fairbanks family decided to preserve the house, and today this house stands as a museum. Fairbanks house. Palace of the governor built in 1610. It is the structure which located in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Pedro de Peralta was the man who was the founder of the city of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Pedro de Peralta was the Spanish territories governor for whom the palace of governor built. Palace of Governor is known to have the record of the oldest public building which continuously occupied in the United States. This building made his name to the U.S. National historic landmark in 1960 and today stand as the New Mexico’s state history museum.
Acoma Pueblo
Acoma Pueblo is the U.S. National Historic Landmark. It located in Cibola County (west of Albuquerque), New Mexico. The three villages Sky city (old Acoma), Acomita and McCarty altogether make Acoma Pueblo. Pueblo is known to hold the record of continuously occupied since 1200 AD. According to history, there was a time when Acoma Pueblo occupied 5,000,000 acres of land which in present time declined to only ten per cent of these figures. Approximate 5000 people identified as Acoma according to the 2010 United States Census.
Taos Pueblo
Taos Pueblo located in the north of the modern city Taos, New Mexico. Taos is speaking, native American tribe of Puebloan people owns Taos Pueblo. Taos Pueblo consists of ancient homes and ceremonial buildings built by these Puebloan peoples. Taos Pueblo made around 1000 AD to 1450 AD. After then it has experienced several additions to its primary structure. It also holds the record of oldest inhabited community in the United States and has been declared as the National Historic Landmark in 1960.
